The online Master's in Curriculum and Instruction at Lewis is distinguished among programs of its kind by offering three specializations to help you become a more effective educational leader. These specializations are available as 18-credit-hour, stand-alone graduate certificate programs as well.
Reading: Nurture literacy and a love of reading among your students with coursework in reading assessment, literature and writing skills, and the most effective teaching methods in this area.
English as a Second Language: Help students grow their English speaking, reading and comprehension skills with an understanding of relevant cultural and linguistic issues, state and national standards, and appropriate methodologies for teaching and assessment.
Special Education: Assist students with learning challenges in various developmental phases with an understanding of their needs, potential disorders and the most effective assessment techniques of those with academic and/or behavior problems.
The master's curriculum also requires a final Civic Engagement Project involving engagement with the community to provide you with experience working with a variety of cultures and demographics.
