Lewis University's information security master's degree program combines core courses to build a solid background in information security with advanced topics in operations, forensics, programming, and strategic risk assessment through two concentrations.

  • Management Concentration: Designed for students who want to advance into leadership and management roles, coursework in this concentration focuses on developing and implementing large-scale plans and strategies for information security.
  • Technical Concentration: Courses offer hands-on training and knowledge to handle a wide range of information security issues and topics, including strategies to repel hackers, secure programming principles, and computer forensic tools.

The National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) designated Lewis University as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education (CAE/IAE) for the academic years 2011–2016.

Coursework meets the national standards of the Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS) and covers the ten domains of knowledge required for the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) exam, the "gold standard" of information security.
