ICF Certification Process

The coaching concentration curriculum is accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF) as an Accredited Coach Training Program (ACTP)*** and will help you prepare for the ICF's Coach Knowledge Assessment (CKA). Coupled with this, the four coaching courses needed to complete the concentration will also satisfy: 

  • All coach training hour requirements (125 hours)
  • All required mentor coaching and coaching supervision

A Curriculum Creating Leaders

The program's faculty members will instill within you an advanced understanding of the executive coaching tools and strategies, helping you transform others into effective leaders like yourself. Coursework within the program begins with the basics of professional executive coaching, progressing to more complex topics, such as methodologies. Upon completion of the program, you'll be prepared to:

  • Build a successful and influential coaching practice
  • Discover and apply coaching research
  • Explore the latest coaching strategies and theories

Additional Graduate Options

In addition to the concentration, Lewis also offers an online Professional and Executive Coaching certificate**, which is an Accredited Coach Training Program (ACTP)*** through the International Coach Federation (ICF). This means that the certificate courses will meet all required coach training hours for students to become certified coaches through the ICF. Lewis University does not grant this ICF certification, but the Lewis University program prepares students to be eligible to attain it.

This 18-hour certificate program is an alternative to the complete Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership for students looking to build skills at coaching organizational leaders. Students who earn the certificate in Professional and Executive Coaching will understand the core coaching competencies while applying coaching models and techniques.
