Introduction to research in Computer Science. Topics include literature review, common mathematical proof techniques, and basic algorithm analysis.  Additionally, the research process will be presented, including design, methodology, and ethics.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Analyze and critique current research in Computer Science.
  2. Present research techniques and methodologies.
  3. Illustrate the use of mathematical proofs to evaluate solutions to problems.
  4. Apply algorithm analysis techniques to evaluate the efficiency of proposed solutions.

Students are required to take this course within the first 14 credit hours of the MS in Computer Science program.
